Mobile phone has evolved beyond its humble voice communication origins and now commands serious attention as the computing platform for the masses.

I was trying to recall what I’ve learned from my Science and Technology class and I remembered how fast technology improves. I was considering how telephones were invented and how it evolved. Well, I am not going to trace the timeline of how telephone evolved. Let me just handpick some of the improvements.

If I remembered it right, Alexander Graham Bell invented the very first telephone. It looked weired during his time since that kind of phone has a separate mouthpiece and earpiece. They even called it “candle stick telephone”. With the phone that he invented, it was not handy because you have to connect it to a cord and the mouthpiece was separted from the earpiece. You have to use one hand for the mouthpiece and other hand for the earpiece. I am not to criticize his invention. In fact I am thankful that Bell made the telephone. Because of his effort, other inventors made a great effort to improve it.

Then, there came those telephones with the mouthpiece and earpiece altogether. Compared to the first one that I mentioned, it has various designs and more convenient to use. There was a telephone wherein numbers are in a circular form and you have to put your fingers in a little circular holes then roll it. It was really fun when I first use the newer versions of it. That was in year 1990s. Then there is another model with number buttons. This is a lot easier though.

Now, it has continuously evolved. I think because people are always on the go and are always too busy. Inventions of new model phones were made. Now it is handy and mobile. So, it means that wherever we go, we can always receive important messages. And in case of emergency, we can always make that important call. Of course, there should be a network signal to make it possible.

What makes the phone evolution really great is that, it has continuously improved providing awesome features to users. For instance, with your mobile phone, you can always have some fun by playing with the games already stored in it. So, if you are going to wait for someone, you won’t get bored if you play with your phone. You can also store music files in it and listen to your favorite songs. Other phones have FM feature while others can allow you to watch TV.

Mobile phone is very helpful as well. For businessmen, reading and sending email is very much possible with high-tech phones like iPhone and Samsung. And if you are a bit slow in sending text messages through the keypads, there are phones who already offer touchscreen.

Everything is made possible now. The user interface of the phones are very much improved. If you want to take advantage of high-tech phones, all you have to do is to prepare to pay much higher than those simple phones.

Thanks to Alexander Graham Bell. His bulky phone has now evolved to high-tech handy mobile phones making the communication to be very much possible wherever we are in the world.
